Chef Andy started his culinary journey at the age of 18 as perhaps the most integral postition in a restaurant, the dishwasher. Chef Andy started washing dishes at Cafe Diva, a fine dining restaurant, in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Over his 23 years at Cafe Diva, he worked his way up to Sous Chef under Chef Kate Rench. He also worked with Dan Bubenheim, owner of Elk River Custom Meats, where he mastered his butchering techniques. He most recently worked with JJ Jenny of Harwigs, where he catered large events such as weddings and fund raisers.

Katie has worked in various restaurants in Steamboat Springs for over 20 years, most recently at Cafe Diva. Katie’s extensive experience with food and wine can provide you with delectable and complimentary pairings for any setting. Katie also has the etiquette you would expect from years of fine dining experience.
Andy and Katie share a love for international cuisine, and have traveled to numerous countries and continents in their ten years together. Their first international trip together was to Costa Rica, where they first heard the term Pura Vida. It is the Costa Rican international phrase meaning pure life. This philosophy stuck with them, and they have embraced it ever since, not only in their day to day life, but also how the cook and cultivate meals. The purest ingredients make for the best dishes! Wanting to create and cultivate and customize their Pura Vida food, they have decided to embark on a new culinary journey, and provide a catering service that embodies the Pura Vida philosophy. With years of fine dining culinary experince, and travel inspired menu options, they are well equipped to make a truly memorable, custom dining experience.
